The lab’s activities emphasize research and development in the areas of 3D computer vision and computer graphics. More specifically, the research efforts are directed towards visual perception of static and dynamic characteristics of the 3D world, object tracking, robot navigation, 3D reconstruction (active and passive stereo-vision) and real-time graphics. Additionally, the lab is interested in the exploitation of machine learning techniques in robotic applications.
In addition to the research work outlined above, CG&VL also aims at applying the methods, technologies, and tools it develops in domains such as industrial 3D measurement and 2D/3D inspection, 3D scanning/reconstruction, medical image analysis and visualization, haptic rendering, and virtual & augmented Realities, etc.
